Captain Adolf F. Konstatzky –
right from the start.

He's been on board for a good 25 years and, as Captain Adolf Franz Konstatzky, took over the helm of the Hohentwiel paddle steamer in 1977. As soon as he came to the Hohentwiel shortly before its second maiden voyage on 17 May 1990 he was fascinated by the ship from the very first moment. His training and experience as a boat-builder were ideal conditions for him to be taken on as a deckhand at the start. After thirteen years on board, thousands of hours on the ship and numerous training courses, he finally took over the helm as captain. Since then he has guided both the ship safely through each season and, in his capacity as managing director, the fortunes of Hohentwiel Schifffahrtsgesellschaft m.b.H as well as the Gastronomiegesellschaft m.b.H. The latter company was founded in association with Heino Huber in 2011.

Captain Adolf F. Konstatzky has already steered the Hohentwiel through 4,405 cruises on Lake Constance, transported 612,583 people and covered 257,639 km – which equates to more than five times the circumference of the Earth.

A cruise on the Hohentwiel is indeed a unique experience. We were impressed by the great care lavished on us as guests. It was a superb night.
