Drama on the Lake.
Every year in July and August, the world’s largest lake stage in Bregenz transforms Lake Constance into an impressive festival region. Up to 200,000 guests and more attend one of the many performances. You can get in the right mood for a unique evening on board the Hohentwiel.

At the port of Bregenz you go on board at 6 pm to be welcomed by our service crew with a sparkling aperitif. As you enjoy a wonderful cruise we’ll be serving you a 4-course Festival meal. After this special trip the Hohentwiel will dock right by the lake stage so that you can enjoy the performance, which starts at 9 pm, on the lake.
Reserve your very own Festival evening completely with us. This experience includes a 3-hour cruise on the Hohentwiel, an aperitif, a Festival dinner, Festival tickets (Category 1 or 2) and reserved seats. We recommend that you book early.

The “Seebühne” lakeside stage highlight in 2011:
“André Chénier” by Umberto Giordano and Luigi Illica.

Arguably the most famous work of Italian composer Umberto Giordano, André Chénier was first performed at Milan’s La Scala on 28 March 1896. This staggeringly intense historical opera in four acts features a libretto by Luigi Illica and is set in the time of the French Revolution. Gripping passions, mysterious secrets and thrilling historical facts ensure a stunning night at the opera with a dramatic finale.
